Such a long time since I last posted - yet things have been quietly bubbling along on the photography front.
The 2014 Organic Gardener Calendar and Diary were shot earlier this year.
There has been ongoing work with Martin Boetz - formerly executive chef at Longrain, now running his own farm on the Hawkesbury.
There are three stories in the upcoming addition of Slow Magazine - one on Marty and another on Hillbillly cider which my good friend Jacqueline wrote and I photographed - and - so exciting - a story I wrote and supplied photographs for on 20 years of visiting Lipsi.
The March edition of Gardening Australia contains a story on Cherrydell, again written by Jacq and photographed by me - remember Cherrydell?
There is my own private project where I am quietly, when I have time, photographing people who live in and visit Maroubra. Shooting on film means I can take it slowly and deliberately which I am loving. You can find it here http://peopleofthebra.tumblr.com/
There is other lovely work coming up and I feel very privileged.
Perhaps the most tense I have been in the past few months was during the horrendous fires which affected the Blue Mountains, but also north and south of Sydney. I drove along the Bells Line of Road and the Darling Causeway a couple of days ago and this is what I saw.
I miss your writing. Your photos are glorious and lift my heart

You have really come of age with your photography Mary. I also think you should think about publishing your Maroubra photos.

Stunning. And exactly what Mary said. Your photographs keep getting better and better. I'm also amazed at your ability to capture so many different subjects eloquently.... people, plants, landscapes, buildings. Few people can excel at all of them.
