Castle Hill Showground, Castle Hill - Second Saturday each month except January

It's 7.30 in the morning
The sun is getting hot
The cockatoos are squabbling
Cars fill the parking lot.
I think that I am early
But that is not the case
Because there is Alan Eagle
A huge smile upon his face.
The line is long for coffee
The queue is huge for eggs
There are people buying veges
And choosing their ducks legs.
There are flowers and there's lamb
Oysters, herbs and honey too
There's beef and flowers and gorgeous jam
And still the people queue.
I hear lots and lots of laughter
People chatting in their lines
Whilst they're waiting for their Christmas Cake
And for biscotti and for wine.
The stalls are all bedecked
With tinsel and with twine
The mood is truly festive
Cause it's almost Christmas time.
This rural feeling market
Is a joyful place to be
The produce glows with freshness
At this time of festivity.
And so we thank the farmers
The producers far and near
To all a Merry Christmas
A safe and prosperous New Year.
